Day Two

Why am I on every email list known to man??  I get Zulily, Babysteals, Little Dudes and Divas, and BabyDealsDujour just to name a FEW. And it's not even just email.  It's also twitter and facebook.  I was slightly tempted today by the current BabySteal.  It was a product called "Mom Spit" that claims to clean your baby on the go and doesn't contain alcohol.  Under normal circumstances I would have tried it out.  However, probably don't need it since I have REAL mom spit.  After that I quickly deleted all of this mornings emails.  I didn't open Zulily even after they announced ErinCondren.com $20.00 for $50.00 worth of merchandise .  Do you know what I am missing?? Erin Condren makes the only life planner that I will EVER use.  Guess no matching gift or address labels for me. Then I found myself scouring eBay for newly listed Ju Ju Be bags, but quickly closed the browser when I realized that the temptation might be too much.  I also almost bought a birthday banner on birthdayexpress.com.  Today was our school's Teacher of the Year parade and the PTA decorated the teacher break room with everything Dr. Suess.  They had the most precious congratulations banner hanging on the wall.  With my husband's birthday being next week I ALMOST broke down. After all, doesn't he NEED a birthday banner to celebrate 33 years???  They even had one with Tony Hawk.  Sigh. This is really more difficult than I thought.  Could it be that I truly do have a problem? Nah.  I'm content to wallow in self-denial for a wee bit longer.

Day One

Holy 40 days and nights Batman!! I'm going to do it! I'm going to put down the mouse and commit to 40 days of NO online shopping. No, I'm not Catholic. But I've decided that I'm going to give up good 'ole Amazon and his buddies for the duration of days between Fat Tuesday and Easter, aka: Lent. This decision is already hurting me. I have a perfectly good 15% off of diapers Amazon coupon that will expire before I can use it. I also have a $10.00 coupon for the Amazon baby store. This one is actually causing me physical pain. I reallllly NEED a Ju Ju Be quick in fuchsia blossoms. It would ONLY cost $5.00 with that coupon!!!! I'll be the first to admit that I might have been a little overzealous the past few weeks buying some things that I probably didn't need. (In my defense though I DID have to buy my DH and Mom a birthday gift!) That's all in the past though. I'm starting fresh today and I'm hoping that this journey will bring me enlightenment, peace, and fewer debits out of the checking account. If that doesn't happen though, at least I'll have saved some money and will be able to afford that Ju Ju Be quick and the matching Ju Ju Be Mighty Be that I NEED!!!!
